Dandy Sweden...

It sometimes amazes me how the simplicity of an outfit often makes a bold and impressive statement... I met this fine looking Gentleman who is from Sweden and is in New York for a vacation... I have always been a fan of the European Dandy look, its just so classic and fashionable...
The cobalt blue trouser goes well with he rust colored sweater and the white oxford shirt... To subtle the effect of such contrasting colors the light brown Sportcoat is a perfect addition... I have repeatedly stressed on the fact that what makes a good look menswear are the details... I just love how the polka dotted pocket square curles up and not tucking in the shirt so a slight hint of white is always there... what really stood out for me were the brown brogue shoes and the white scarf.. for some reason which i cannot understand these things made the outfit look so stylish but still not overdoing it... Just the right amount... Kudos!

Light Fabrics... But Heavy on Chicness...

One of the biggest and the most important discovery in the Fashion world was Man made fabrics.... They have given us the endless possibilities to stretch our imaginations in terms of sillehoutes, practical use,  surface techniques, drape and colors... In this look what I like is the comfort, colors and the way its draping over the body...

The Pumpkin and The Red Plaid...

Its interesting when sometimes a composition comes together and that to a very abstract... I think Plaids have been strong this season and also in previous Fall season... but this time the colors are more saturated and they are getting bigger...
The pumpkin Orange has been on my mind since a quite some time now... I think its a perfect color for transition of Spring into Fall...

The Psychology of Colors...

'A lot of colors for Fall'...that was the first thought that crossed my mind when I saw Tom who works in the Psychology Department at The New School... Well these colors surely cheered up my mood in this cold weather... Such is the effect of colors... New York where you get to see mostly Black, Grays and Whites, this was a nice break.
It was a pleasure meeting this fine Gentleman who surely understands the Psychology of colors and Fashion...

The Preppy Skateboarder...

On a casual trip to Tribeca I happen to meet Alexander Nash, what stood out in his look was just not clothes but the attitude with which he carried it... you don't see preppy dressed people doing skateboarding.. do you??.. I thought it was pretty cool, like 'Hipster' cool... anyways he happens to be a Menswear designer and  specializes in Suits and sportcoats which I have recently grown fond of due to my internship in Barneys New York - Men's made to measure department... I checked out his Facebook Page and it was pretty awesome... Menswear is generally simple and basic when it comes to no. of sillehoutes so the places with which one can play with are colors, fabrics and accessories... something I think what the Designer is trying to do... Paying attention to the details...
