Dots and Patterns...

It's a Gentlemen Thing...

What else can a Street Style Blogger ask for... A guy with a very peculiar sense of style ( which I really like) smoking a pipe!... Now that's not just style that is style with flair... I think smoking pipe is a very Gentlemanly thing... something that we only get to see in old movies... I met Paasha who is an NYU student and a Fashion Enthusiast...

Apart from the pipe I really like the outfit...It is so well put together... The Orange tie... Military green sport coat and The Fedora...To subtle the effect of Orange and Green... The white shirt, Grey pocket square and the blue pants works just fine...The brown monk shoe just signs of the look! .... Just like a Perfect Gentlemen Look...

The Denim Apron...

I knew there was something very unique about the outfit the moment I saw Jin who came out for a smoke break...These work wear uniforms are very simple and functional but they look so chic at the same time...I particularly liked the overall blue pallet of the outfit and the Chambray / Denim apron...Now imagine using this an an accessory...Food for thought!

Piano Man...

These pictures reminds of Piano Man by Billy Joel...One of my favorite songs...The man stood right  there for almost an hour as the Piano Man played some his original pieces...Apart from the composition I really like his outfit...It had a very Jazz Funk look...Tan colored leather overcoat...Khaki colored pants... Beige bucket hat...hint of purple turtle neck  and ofcorse the silver shoes which was the highlight of the look...

It's all in the Sleeve!

Generally what the Sartorial experts say is that when you are wearing a sport coat the corresponding sleeve length of the clothing that goes beneath the jacket should not be longer than the end point of your wrist... But Carlos seems to defy the rules...and I actually like this point of view... It's different and looks nice...I like the whole look... has a structured as well as a more casual look... I think that's because of the white sneakers, under jacket, the Hat and ofcorse the long sleeve of the sweater...

Overcoat and Hiking Boots

So what is the most easiest and yet the chicest look for the season?... Overcoat, denims and Hiking Boots... I have also recently spotted the trend of showing chunky woolen socks in contrasting colors... I think this look is a very easy to carry look for daytime...

Just The Perfect Mix...

Shannon is a Fashion Marketing major at Parsons... she just moved to New York and will be starting her first semester... I am glad to know that such well dressed students are coming to Parsons...
I am generally not a big fan of dark colors but this is truly an exception... I like the way how the outfit is minimal but has these small quirky details...The Overcoat was the first thing that caught my attention... Combination of different fabrics and colors within the same piece looks really chic... Slightly loose light weight denim shirt and the gathered pants gives a slight little twist to the structured look  of the overcoat...the bright colored Satchel has been such a rage this season... Again the intention was to give a slight color lift without being too loud... Just the perfect mix for a good cocktail...

Good Luck Shannon!

A Poet's Note...

Writers and Poets see the world in a very different and elemental way...The way they perceive things and present it to the world through their work has always fascinated me... I met Matthew at Union Sq. and he was so much into his writing that I think I scared him a little when I asked him for a picture... I really like his outfit...It's subtle but still has that romantic charm in it at the same time... A brown check overcoat and burgundy colored trousers... You know sometimes the most simplest of combinations work wonders...

I have read amazing reviews and description  on his latest work ' The Humanist ' and I am going to order one right away...

British Punk Please!

Just to let you know that he was the guy who inspired me to take up street style photography...He was my  first street shot 2 years ago and as they say 'Rest is History'... Ben is a London based designer who is heavily into  punk and rock inspired designs... which is quiet apparent from his look...It was an amazing feeling to meet him again... what I like about his outfit is the extremity and volume it has... A true expression i believe...

Through the Lens... We see...

There something about vintage movie cameras that always captures my attention... They are just so beautiful... I think they are a medium through which we can see how cinema actually evolved...
