Dye Denim Dye...

I am loving the idea of Bleached / Tie Dye denim... Especially the blotchy kind, it has a lot of character and flare... The denim looks as if paint was spilled on it accidently or was it?!

One of my friends suggested me that you can do this at home too... Well I have to dig deeper  and do a little research before I present an idea in front of you guys... I think the denim looks stunning... I generally dress up in a very preppy way and wanted to try something new with with my trousers/ denims and this seems to be an excellent idea... I think it will be an interesting combination with the upper half of the look being preppy (Sportcoat, shirt, knit tie/ bowtie and a pocket sq) and the lower half being grungy... What do you think?

Socks and Shoes...

Faces and Sunshine...

Artful Tote Bags...

The Fearless...

I love shooting teenagers... They are the ones who are the most fearless and experimental when it comes to dressing up... Their way of putting a look together is very offbeat and very silently they signal an existence of a sub culture or an emerging trend... The way they see things that we might think has no more scope of creativity is amazing... They are less bothered of what people outside their peer group think of them, I think that is the reason behind their creative approach towards things...

The Drapy Headwear...

Commes Des Garcon Fall 1983 collection

A typical Rajasthani Headwear

It's an amazing feeling when I get to capture something that relates to a designer's previous  work or something that exist totally in an opposite side of the world... I really like the drapy/ wrapped around headwear of the man whom I clicked at Washington sq park... When I studied the image it reminded me of an Japanese Fashion exhibition that I attended few years ago at FIT... The third picture is one of the designs from Commes Des Garcon Fall 1983 collection that I saw at the exhibit...The collection was based on creating a new relationship between body and clothes, a new attitude toward the beauty of imperfection, and a new appreciation of avant-garde fashion as 'art'...Japanese designers like Rei Kawakubo, Yojhi Yamamoto and Isse Miyake are known for their paattern and draping skills.... Their whole idea towards deconstruction of the garment is very intriguing...

The last picture is of a Rajasthani man...Their Headwear includes the art of draping a 25 m long fabric around their head... They do it for functional purposes, according to them it helps them to keep their head cool in the blazing heat of Rajasthan...

I liked how all these picture co relate with each other... The Drapy Headwear...

P.S: The guy was just smoking a cigarette!

Hair on Hair Knot...

The Camo Suit...

The Camo print is everywhere... I started noticing it right after NYFW... I was not a big fan of the print in the starting but after seeing it everywhere and on a lot of street style blogs I started liking it... I find this look very interesting...Wearing a loose fitted camo suit and combining it with sneakers looks really cool... The whole look is very grungy + military inspired...
